Naval Square's development was a major catalyst for the resurgence of the surrounding neighborhood. Graduate Hospital goes by many names (Center City South, South of South, G-Ho), which is fitting for a neighborhood that draws its personality from the people inside it: born-and-raised neighbors, young transplants, hip urban professionals, suburban downsizers, craft beer crowds and more.
In recent years, the area stretching from Lombard Street to Washington Avenue and from Broad Street to Grays Ferry Avenue has accumulated a healthy dose of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and markets that reflect the area’s cool, residential vibe. Characterized by a mix of single-family homes, new and old, Graduate Hospital is a remarkably kid-friendly place (hence the stroller-filled sidewalks).
The neighborhood is prime for outdoor lovers- located only a few blocks from the Schyukill River Path, Mackward Playground, Tennis Courts and dog parks.
Centrally located directly between University City and Rittenhouse & Fitler Squares you will also find it very easy to commute to both Center City as well as CHOP, HUP and UPENN, which are only a short stroll across the South Street Bridge.
My family and I have lived in this wonderful neighborhood now for 15 years. We love it here, and we're pretty sure you will too!
